AER elects Spanish President at General Assembly in Brussels.

MEDIA RELEASE


At the General Assembly held in Brussels (Belgium) on January 31st, 2008, Members of the Association of European Radios (AER) elected as their new President Mr. Alfonso Ruiz de Assin.

Mr. Ruiz de Assin, Secretary General of the Spanish Commercial Radio Broadcasting Association, was elected for a two-year mandate during the AER Assembly, which was dedicated to the analysis of the European radio broadcasting sector, to the approval of the association’s 2007 activities, and to the determination of the 2008 programme.

The AER Executive Committee is now composed of:

Mr. Petros KOSTOPOULOS (EIRA – Greece) Member


Created in 1992, the Association of European Radios (AER) is a Europe-wide trade body representing the interests of over 4,500 private/commercial radio stations across the EU27 and in Switzerland.

AER is an EEIG whose main objective is to develop and defend the most suitable framework for private commercial radio activity. AER constantly follows EU actions in the fields of media, telecommunications and private radio transmission, in order to contribute, to enrich and to foster the radio sector.
